STUDIO EXPERIENCE

At Glow, the experience extends beyond the class/session itself. It’s shaped by how we move, how we share space, and how we care for one another.

Our intention is to create an environment that feels calm, grounded, and supportive for everyone who walks through the door- you belong here!

To help maintain that experience, we invite you to move with awareness — before, during, and after class or session.

A few things to know:

  • When arriving, the waiting room is for visiting, the studio is a quiet space to prepare for class. Please respect the studio space and the students using it for meditation time. Not only does this honor the yogi who is trying to center prior to class, there is likely a massage going on in the adjoining room. Please visit and catch up in the waiting room before and after class.

  • Please leave your personal belongings in the waiting room, including your phone to reduce distraction. You deserve this time for yourself.

  • Coats, jackets and sweatshirts are the only items to be hung on the coat hooks. Bags and purses are left on the floor or couch. The doors are locked during class for the protection of your items (please note -you are welcome to lock your items in your vehicle as Glow and it’s instructors are not responsible for your items). Please keep your footwear on rugs and rubber mats. If you are tracking through the waiting area, snow or other debris we be all around the waiting room, you and the other students will have to walk with socks or bare feet through the wetness or debris. Care for yourself and others.

  • Each mat is a personal space. We ask that you step around mats rather than across them, honoring each individual’s practice and presence. In that same manner, during class your mat is your space, do your best to stay on your mat and off your neighbor’s mat.

  • Props are shared tools meant to support your experience, this includes studio mats, blankets, blocks, bolsters, bender balls, mace bars, belts, glow bands and wheels as well as the cold cloth. After class, please return props neatly and how you found them to ensure the room remains welcoming and peaceful for each practitioner and the props are easily found by the next student.

  • Arriving a few minutes early (15 mins max) allows time to settle in, set up intentionally, and begin class without feeling rushed. Please know that if you are running more than 5 minutes behind and you have not let the instructor know, the door will be locked by 5 minutes after class starts to allow for the class to flow without interruption.

  • Please utilize the Glow app. It is free and easy to navigate. You can book classes, courses/trainings, appointments and cancel them as you need. This is the best way to manage your studio schedule.

  • The Glow Studio has a great group of yogis and with many yogis in one space it is important to have a waitlist. If a class you are interested in is fully booked add yourself to the waitlist. Please check the app and your email to know when you have been added to the class. There is typically more than one yogi in a waitlist, if you decide you wont be attending a class, the app is there, cancel on the app even if it is out of the waitlist, to be caring to the other students so as many people can participate as possible.

  • Please pick up after yourself! If your items are left for more than a week at a time they will be donated.

These small acts of consideration help protect the atmosphere we value — one rooted in respect, ease, and presence.

Thank you for being part of what makes this space feel so special.

If you’re ever unsure, our team is always happy to help — just ask.

  • Yes, is the short answer.

However, if it is your first class, we do have mats to borrow for free and check out to determine what your best mat might be.

Mats were made available for people who would forget or for the yogi who hasn’t decided on a mat yet. Due to recent activity and the regular use of the studio mats, Mat rental is now a new option in the store on the app. $5 Mat Rental for when you forget or want to try something different. First Class yogis can borrow with no rental fee.

In Hot yoga people sweat and the mat should stay personal prop and not continually shared. Please allow us to help you find your best mat then purchase your own personal mat for regular use.

  • This is a great question and a very personal question.

There are a few things to consider:

    • How much do you sweat?

      • If you really don’t sweat much, you can pick just about any mat. Yogi’s typically sweat a lot at GLOW. Look for a mat for hot yoga with grip. Some mats are. more suede material and require sweat to grip where others may be made from a natural cotton that has ridges for gripping or even natural rubber that is naturally sticky.

    • Do you have tender joints?

      • The thinner the mat the easier it is to grip, but if you have tender knees, hips or sit bones, it may be beneficial to pick a thicker mat more like a 5 or 6mm. Thick foam mats used for the gym or pilates are not ideal for Hot Yoga. They move and keep you distracted and do not provide the best grounding or stability. You may use them at Glow but they are not recommended.

    • How much are you wanting to invest?

      • This is likely what will help you pick once you look into the other two questions. You can get mats anywhere from $10 all the way to $200. Just remember you get what you pay for. My favorite mat is $100 and is made from organic cotton. Manduka is an affordable option you can find on Amazon for under $100.

  • Great news there is not a dress code.

With that, we do recommend you wear breathable clothing that is close to the skin (tight-ish) so the instructors can help see joints and be sure they are helping correctly with hands on assists.

The best way to know if what you are wearing is good for practice is to ask yourself these two questions:

    1. Can I move in it?

    2. Can I sweat in it?

    3. Will it distract from my practice

I personally avoid shorts, this is because I sweat a lot and when sweat drips down my legs, i am distracted and lose my concentration on my practice. That is just a personal preference , others wear shorts with out any distraction.

I also don’t wear socks in yoga. My feet move inside the sock twisting the sock all around. It is annoying. But In Barre, I will wear a yoga sock that go between the toes. I mostly love to ground and go bare foot. You pick for you!

Some people wear sports bras or tank tops or even multi layer them. You are welcome to do you!

I would suggest if your hair gets in your face to bring a hair tie and if you forget one, we have extras under the sink in the restroom along with other products that are just needed sometimes.

A sweat towel is something I always bring with me!

  • Cancellations are a part of life. Things change and opportuniies arise.

Use the app and cancel your class at least two hours prior to class start time to avoid any additional fees. There is a $15 late cancel fee for those who have a membership. If you are pay as you go, the late cancel fee is the cost of the class. If you have a credit pack, late cancel fee will take that credit.

    There are no refunds.

If you cancel outside of the two hour requirement there is no fee, your class is canceled. Credits go back into your account. If pay as you go, reach out via email tanabethmiller@gmail.com to move your payment to a credit for another class. There are no refunds.

If you are pay as you go, click the credit card icon and pick pay later and when you check into the studio run the card at that point to avoid having to move early canceled classes to credits.
